Health Care Analysis

I continue to describe what is happening now as a non-debate over non-reform. Both sides are fighting harder to entrench the status quo than for any meaningful change. Maybe the Democrats will take our already-socialized system and make it a few degrees more socialized. Maybe they won’t. From my perspective, it’s much ado about nothing.

When all is said and done, more will be said than done. This is probably a good thing. It’s more likely that politicians will make things worse than make things better.

The health care debate is very simple. If you have a medical condition, it’s either treated or it’s not. If it’s treated, either you pay or someone else pays. If someone else pays, they will discourage the use of treatments that have little likelihood of success. Everything else is tiresome detail.
