The Wall Street Journal has an especially long and especially good editorial on health care “reform”. It’s no surprise that politicians try to curry favor by promising something for nothing, but in this case Team Obama has been at least somewhat candid in noting that the reform will require slowing the pace of medical advancement. It’s already happened in countries that already have national health plans. I doubt that most people are aware of that. It will also, ultimately, require rationing of health care. It happens routinely in those other countries and will happen here. If the reforms come to pass, we will get the health care we deserve. If you’re going to be sick, do it now, because it may be much harder to be sick in the future.
