Don’t Cry About The Lie

The dishonesty of this crowd is just breathtaking. The Bushies were blatantly high handed, while Team Obama prefers the Big Lie and assumes we are all too dumb to see through it.

The wealthy and powerful exist in every society, and they will often do whatever it takes to preserve their position of privilege. This should not be a surprise nor a cause for offense: it’s just human nature. It is, however, interesting to see how it is done.

People pinned a lot of hopes on President Obama. The reality is that he’s just a successful politician, and like all successful politicians, he has to attend to the rich and powerful. He is not uniquely bad in that regard. But neither is he uniquely good with his brand of sophmoric populism. It’s irritating to know that I will be paying for the mistakes of incompetent bankers, but that is the least of my worries. Worse things are coming.
