Goofballs

Megan writes about the goofy expectation of some Obama supporters:

I’m not exaggerating:  there were voters who seemed to think that about three weeks after Obama took office, all their budget problems would be solved.  Not that Obama would eventually make things better, or help them get past the rough spots; they were expecting an immediate influx of really quite a lot of money, as well as a rapid and permanent increase in base wages and housing prices.

To be fair, a lot of people who didn’t support Obama have some strange ideas too. They are equally wrong. Trust me: Obama will not usher in the fall of civilization.

Both parties attract their share of goofballs, and neither party does a lot to discourage them. After all, a vote is a vote.
