I don’t know how to judge this exactly. There’s more than one way more than one way to interpret this. I can certainly understand the eagerness to accept it at face value – anything to make the problem of a nuclear Iran just go away! (Some think the report will have the opposite effect).
That’s been our national attitude on the war in Iraq – just make it go away! Until recently, things looked pretty bleak. But now that things are looking some better, support for the war is improving. And now, the war is more popular than Congress! Maybe it’s Congress that should just go away!
Some people question whether Iran is a rational actor – I have the same question about Congress.
