Arnold Kling has performed another great service by writing about the economic insights of Nobel prize winner Douglass North. It provides a lot of food for thought. It explains why government can’t fix problems, but can only change them. North’s thinking is significantly different from anything I’ve been exposed to. If you’re interested in economics, this is a must read.
