Political Logic

Every now and then I find something that opens my eyes to a new way of looking at things. This post on the logic of politics is one such thing. Not only is the analysis compelling, it strikes me as extensible beyond the bounds of the original idea. Politicians have an incentive to seek and keep power, but their success depends upon a selectorate and a winning coalition. This kind of analysis can explain a great deal of the seemingly idiosyncratic nature of politics and politicians.
